Job Title: Sales - VP/General Manager Sales Type: Full Time Location: Atlanta, GA Industry: Telecommunications
MUST HAVE TELECOM INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE OR WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
General Purpose: Directs and oversees business operations, market business plan, and sales management, staff, and their activities in assigned city/cities. Ensures targets for sales, revenue, and customer growth, retention, and satisfaction are met, while advancing corporate business, sales, and financial goals.
Duties and Responsibilities: *Develops, manages, and monitors location(s) financial objectives, including: Revenue forecast for commercial services in all channels, working with channel leaders and partners to attain revenue and growth objectives for each segment. City financials including: Capital expenditures, partnering with field operations and other internal functions regarding infrastructure development and capital approval Profit and loss statement Monthly forecasts Accounts receivable aging Income statement Addressing issues, deviations, exceptions, modifications, including corrections/adjustments to business operations and/or sales activities *Develops and oversees attainment of annual business and market plans in accordance with company strategy, including: Prioritizing sales initiatives Ensuring on-net builds are profitable Identifying and implementing network expansion opportunities Managing network planning activities Overseeing provisioning of products and services through field operations teams and local and centralized order fulfillment teams Providing input to establish priorities for local field operations teams Obtaining cooperation of all functional disciplines required to execute plans, ensuring activities are coordinated and mutually supportive Ensuring customers located in their market receive target level of service as defined by company customer experience objectives
*Collaborates with multiple organizations not reporting to this position that function within assigned location and are responsible for significant portion of city related sales success (e.g., National Accounts, National Enterprise Accounts, Alternate Channel).
*Leads local marketing and public awareness programs; provide guidance and feedback to corporate Marketing.
*Manages staff members, including: Interviewing, hiring, and terminating Establishing priorities, goals, objectives, and metrics Monitoring and evaluating performance Allocating workload and setting deadlines Assessing skills, developing, training, and mentoring Ensuring employees have skills and knowledge to perform successfully
*Performs other duties as assigned.
Typical Qualifications:
Education/Experience: *Bachelors degree in business, finance, economics, marketing, or telecom, or equivalent combination of applicable education/experience *Eight years telecommunications sales and sales leadership experience, including minimum of 3 years telecommunications sales management experience
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: *Demonstrated knowledge of: Marketing and sales promotion Accounting and finance, including GAAP, sales forecasting, capital expenditures, operating expenses Fiber network technologies, products, services, and components Data network topologies and management of related resources *Skills and abilities: Negotiating Relationship management Verbal and written communication Process and project management Team management and motivation PC desktop packages (preferably Microsoft Office) Working Conditions/Physical Requirements: *Occasional travel required *Typical office environment with extensive use of office equipment, including PC, fax, copier, phone
